Senior Backend Java Engineer Full Time

ABOUT INFINNI

INFINNI is the infrastructure behind the creator economy. We’re already the leading CRM in our category, with thousands of creators and creator businesses running their operations on our platform. Now we’re building the next layer of products, AI-powered tools, big-data and infrastructure purpose-built for creators.

We’re a global team of 180+ builders at the rare inflection point where a category leader becomes a category-defining platform. The decisions we make in the next 18 months will shape an industry.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a senior engineer who enjoys both designing systems and writing the code that runs them. You’ll shape the architecture of our backend services, make key technical decisions around scalability and data, and stay close to the code as a hands-on contributor. You’ll work with high-throughput, distributed systems where concurrency, consistency, and performance really matter, and you’ll help raise the engineering bar across the team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Design, build, and evolve backend services in Java (and Go where it fits), from architecture through to production.
• Define and drive architectural decisions for distributed, horizontally scalable systems.
• Build event-driven systems on Kafka and design data flows that handle eventual consistency correctly.
• Model and optimize data across PostgreSQL, Redis, and analytical stores such as ClickHouse or Apache Doris.
• Write efficient, safe concurrent code, and review others’ concurrency designs.
• Profile and tune applications for latency, throughput, and memory usage, including JVM and garbage collection tuning.
• Build and run services on AWS in close collaboration with our DevOps team.
• Mentor other engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and pairing.

WHAT YOU BRING

Required

• At least 5 years of experience working as a Senior Developer or Architect.
• Expert-level Java.
• Deep experience with Spring (Boot, Data, etc.) and Hibernate/JPA, including an understanding of what happens under the hood.
• Strong command of multi-threading and concurrency in Java: CompletableFuture, thread pools and executors, the fork/join framework, synchronization primitives, and common pitfalls.
• A solid grasp of distributed systems concepts, including eventual consistency, idempotency, and horizontal scaling.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka in production.
• Strong PostgreSQL skills, including schema design, query optimization, and indexing.
• Experience using Redis for caching, rate limiting, or other patterns.
• Experience building and running services on AWS.
• Practical knowledge of JVM internals, garbage collectors (G1, ZGC, etc.), and performance tuning with tools like profilers, heap dumps, and GC logs.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go/Rust/TypeScript.
• Experience deploying and running services on Kubernetes.
• An interest in CI/CD and DevOps practices, and in owning your services all the way to production.
• Experience with ClickHouse, Apache Doris, or other columnar/OLAP databases.
• Experience designing systems with high availability and fault tolerance.
• Experience with observability tooling such as OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing.
• Experience working with LLMs and agentic workflows, whether using tools like Claude Code or Codex in your development process or building LLM-powered solutions.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

• Competitive salary: Attractive compensation and relocation package commensurate with experience and skills. Bonus Beckham Law tax rate if you are moving to Spain for the first time.
• Remote work and yearly company offsite: We offer flexible working hours and location options (work remotely within the EU, or from our two offices in Tenerife).
• Professional growth: Opportunities for career advancement and personal development in a fast-growing company.
• Inclusive culture: Be part of a diverse and collaborative team committed to innovation and excellence.
• Direct Impact: working with a team focused within a high-growth SaaS company helping creators thrive!
